About
Hi everyone, I’m Jasonpaul. When I was younger, I was never the fittest or the fastest, but I always wanted to join in, lead by example and be part of the team. I played rugby in the scrum, cricket as an opener, and football in goal. I might not have been a natural athlete and I certainly wasn’t a runner, but I would pushed myself for the team. In 2023, my brother was diagnosed with cancer. He faced surgery, uncertainty, recovery, and then, when things seemed to be improving, another blow.. a brain tumour. What amazed me wasn’t just how he kept learning, researching, staying hopeful, and believing in the next step but his courage,. His strength became a lesson to me and to all of us. His heart grew, even as ours all fell apart. Watching him fight with that level of strength and resilience made me feel like I wanted to do something, something meaningful but I didn’t yet know what that was. Living in the U.S., I couldn’t always be there, and there are many people to thank for helping my brother from his wife Katie, my family, to friends like Mark, and the incredible neuro team (Oscar) But one person who made a lasting impact was Howard, and the Evie Dove Foundation he and his wife created in memory of their daughter. Their kindness meant the world to my brother and to our family. I met Howard in London every time I saw my brother, hearing Evie’s story firsthand and learning about the foundation’s work is what truly made something click for me. That conversation is what made me think about running a marathon for the first time. It suddenly felt like the right way to honour my brother, be part of the team, the foundation and the light they bring during some of the hardest moments families can face. And that’s exactly why I’m running. Not because I’m a runner but because I wanted to take on something that truly challenged me, something worthy of the courage my brother has shown, be part of the supporting team and the support the Evie Dove Foundation continues to offer. So this April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon for the Evie Dove Foundation, in honour of my brother Jamie, and in celebration of the support and courage the Evie Dove Foundation continues to bring. This run isn’t just about miles. It’s about strength, gratitude, and hope. If you’d like to support my run or the Evie Dove Foundation, any donation big or small can make a meaningful difference. I’ll be sharing updates along the way as I train toward London 2026. Thank you for listening and for believing that every step we take carries hope.
