Hey there! My name is Ellie and I am a nurse currently working two incredible roles, as a Senior Sister on Paediatric Intensive Care at King’s College Hospital, and also as the Patient Liaison Nurse for London’s Air Ambulance. In 2023 I was the very proud recepient of a grant from The Evie Dove Foundation which allowed me to pay for a training course to become an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Instructor. This course has allowed me to join the teaching faculty for APLS, as well as teach Basic Life Support to parents and carers who have children with complex needs being discharged home from hospital. I also teach my own ‘Introduction to CPR and Life Support’ at schools and community centres, enabling the public to have the best possible skillset during an emergency. I am thrilled to now be able to give back to The Evie Dove Foundation and in May 2025 I will be taking part in my first marathon (also my first competitive race of any length), to raise funds for this incredible charity. The Evie Dove Foundation has enhanced my career and allowed me to use my skills to empower healthcare professionals, parents, carers and the public. I am not a ‘natual runner’, and running a marathon is never something I have considered before, so this will be a real challenge to me and I hope to raise as much money as possible for such a brilliant cause, in memory of the incredible Evie Dove.
