The mighty ‘Neil Madrid’ has been toppled!!!

As regular readers know ‘Neil’ had been leading the charge for the top Triple Captain GW score with 94 points since GW1, however GW17 saw ‘Dom is below me’ sneak in with a fantastic 97 points powered unsurprisingly by Triple Captain Erling Haaland.

Well done ‘Dom’, you are leading the way for the £125 prize fund, and have set the target for everyone else to aim for……..charge your engines for those double gameweeks everyone……..

Other than that it was pretty much business as usual – lIttle change at the top –  ‘Romford Rejects’ and ‘Dan Hoare’s Heros retained 1st and 2nd place, albeit ‘Studley Constable’ a team famed for minimal research and basically ‘winging it’, did move stealthily into 3rd place just ahead of ‘Champagne Pepe’……all to play for at the top.

Meanwhile pretty much everyone captained Haaland – with 114 teams being duly rewarded with 26 points, only outscored by the 3 teams that went for a revitalised Marcus Rashford who returned 28 points, well done to those of you swimming against the tide, I wish you brave non-Haaland captainers well!!

Shout out to ‘Slab Head United’ and ‘Haaland Globetrotter’ who both scored 106 points, high score of the week, albeit it was mixed blessings for ‘Haaland Globetrotter’ who saw the obvious opportunity the other 142 teams missed and played their Bench Boost chip – surely a very smart move with a revitalised 15 man squad?………….the result – 2 bonus points  – Ward (1), Faes (1), Garnacho (0), Walker (0)….. better luck next season ‘HG”!!

Anyway It’s a quick turnaround between GW 17 and GW18, so just a quick update today, I’m sure many of you are having some downtime from emails anyway!
