Gameweek 20

It’s another crazy turnaround between Fulham v Chelsea last night and Aston Villa v Leeds tonight – your DEADLINE is 18:30 this evening and it’s a big double gameweek so DO NOT MISS OUT!!!!

Gameweek 19 took an absolute age to complete, in case you’d forgotten here’s a quick overview of what happened – Brentford destroyed Liverpool, Darwin Nunez still can’t hit a barn door, and even when he does either Ben Mee or VAR are there to deny him……… Arsenal & Newcastle played out a top of the table nil-nil, opening the door for Man City to gain some ground stealing an away win at Chelsea, despite not really turning up for the first 45 mins…in similar style to Tottenham who only seem to get motoring in the second half, certainly the case against Palace who they battered 4-0…….It also appears that Man Utd are good again, another impressive win, amazing how much they have improved since Ronaldo finally exited stage left to South Africa Saudi Arabia. Conversely Leicester are not good again, beaten at home by an increasingly impressive Fulham……. Everton and Southampton both did their best to get their managers to the top of the next manager to be sacked betting with losses at home to Brighton and Forest respectively, the former match producing quite possibly the worst back pass I’ve ever seen in a Premiership match – sadly none of you had Gana Gueye in your team as you would definitely have picked up assist points for that! Leeds and West Ham, and Villa and Wolves played out score draws, and then finally a miserable gameweek for Chelsea was wrapped up last night as the best team in West London beat the 3rd best team in West London….

In terms of what that meant for the Evie Dove Foundation League, I am delighted to announce that for the second time this season ‘Douglas Luiz Dynamos’ have surged into the lead on 1158 points, a score that is matched by ‘Siuuuu you later’ – I like your style by the way – changing your team name and cruising to the top of the league in the same week shows a touch of class, and gets you into the running for the £50 best name prize. Well done to both of you with an impressive 84 and 74 points respectively, albeit team of the week was ‘Evermore’ coming in with 90 points, all the more impressive considering they benched their entire collection of Newcastle players (Almiron, Schar, and Trippier), leaving 16 points in reserve!

Captaincy this week was more spread around – 66 of you still opted for Haaland, who returned a miserable 4 points, whilst 29 of you looked to take advantage of the Mitrovic double game week, and fared only slightly better returning 10 points. Hats off to only 3  teams who captained Harry Kane, securing an impressive 32 points – amazing that he was such a differential, well done ‘ Evermore’, ‘The Toilets’ and ‘Forest are Back’ for going against the grain.

Two failed attempts at the Triple Captain Crown – ‘Kalem Way’ had a really good bash – 80 points not quite enough, let down by Triple Captain Mitrovic missing the second game through suspension….meanwhile ‘Wesley Crushers’ accepted the gauntlet laid down by ‘Scmaccaroni Cheese’ in GW16, and made a play for the worst Triple Captain team score of the season – however incredibly these two are now tied on 31 points – can anyone possibly go lower????  I’m expecting to see a few Triple Captains this week with Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace all getting a double.

And that my friends is a whistle stop tour of the never ending GW19, thankfully GW20 is here and a bit of normality returns. Have a great gameweek everyone and let’s see a few of those Chips getting played!!!!
