Gameweek 28

Well that was a big week, all of you that loaded on DGW Brighton and Brentford players were made to wait, but duly rewarded on Wednesday night, especially the 30 odd percent of you that captained high roller Ivan Toney, the ‘gamble’ paying off with 26 points…..Mitoma and March also proved popular amongst you with over 20 percent of you opting for one of the Brighton pair, and again you came up trumps as their quest for the fourth Champions League place continues.

Surprisingly there were still a number of you that stayed loyal to single gameweek players, 4 of you capitalised on 26 points from Kane – very well one, whilst 31 of you remained loyal to Haaland who delivered with a late penalty, and sadly 7 of you opted for Salah who did not deliver a late penalty!!  And whilst I don’t like to talk about myself, I must say that ‘Bad Havertz lead 2U’ nearly had the greatest differential captain pick of the year – David Raya presented with a completely free header in the last minute as Brentford pushed for a late equaliser – that would have made my season!!!

Team of the week was ‘Kinder Mbuemo’ scoring a massive 115 points, powered by an inspired Bench Boost serving up an additional 32 points – Raya (9), Mee (9), Shaw (5), Almiron (9) – great use of that precious chip ‘Kinder’. Conversely, commiserations to ‘Purple Reign’ who also threw their BB chip in the ring, sadly bringing three zero scores into play!! Thankfully Norgaard was there to save the day with a 9 pointer!! I reckon Gameweek 29 could be a massive GW for the Bench Boosts, I’m sure a number of you are eyeing up the target of 118 points currently held by ‘K.E.T.H UTD’!!

However, before we get there, we’ve got GW28 to navigate, just seven matches, no Liverpool, Man Utd or Man City players involved – either time to take a couple of minus 4 hits, or to play the Free Hit – just remember however there is still a £125 prize up for grabs for best Free Hit – you may choose to play it more aggressively in a Double Gameweek, and gun for ‘R’s Ez dub’ 130 point target. GW28 deadline is tonight at 18:30, and we kick off with Forest v Newcastle this evening, make sure you get your team in on time and I hope you find a way to get as many players on the pitch as possible!
