Well I told you to get those Bench Boost chips ready and you did not disappoint…..!!!
It was a momentous week for the Evie Dove Foundation League, with all the top prizes targeted……….for the first time since GW19 we have a new leader…….’‘Studley Constable FC’ on 1971 points, off the back of an impressive GW score of 140 points.
‘Studley’ are followed by ‘Hotel? Thiago’ on 1953 points, and ‘Crystal Pellis’ on 1951 points, both also playing their Bench Boost, with ‘Siuuuu you later’ dropping to 6th despite a very sound 102 points, showing just how big a GW it was. Watch out though, ‘Siuuuu’ are not done yet, the BB chip is still in reserve and we’ve got a massive Double GW 34 on the horizon!!
However whilst that was good, even ‘Studley’ had to play second fiddle to both ‘Romford Rejects’ and ‘Nov’s Nomads’, who both hit an incredible total of 147 points………..sorry ‘K.E.T.H UTD’ you’d been sitting on that £125 prize since GW10, no-one had been able to land a punch on you and then all of a sudden, two come along!!
Meanwhile a couple of you had a really solid bash at the £125 Free Hit prize with ‘Jamilios gems’ and ‘The Cesc Pistols’ notching 121 points and 119 points respectively, a valiant effort however ‘R’s Ez dub’ cling on to that prize on 130 points……. and we also had a two more Triple Captains, with ‘Nike-on-Arteta’ and Ivan Toney falling just short on 112 points, and a gamble by ‘Darwinsared’ on Gakpo pulling out the stops away to Man City and Chelsea not quite paying off, leaving ‘Cheesy Iheanacho’s & ‘MBF’ still sitting nervously in first place on 115 points!
A special mention also for both ‘Gaz FC’ and ‘Willian Dollar Baby’……….I thought we had seen the WORST Bench Boost of the season all the way back in GW1 when ‘Fjirepit FC’ went for a season opening bonanza and delivered an additional 1 (one) point…………Far better clearly to sit on the BB chip until a big Double Gameweek, and both ‘Gaz’ and ‘Willian’ thought they’d timed it perfectly and sat back smugly waiting for all those lovely extra points to roll in…………. but sadly we saw not one, but two ZERO pointers – Sanchez, Haaland, Jimenez, Vestergaard, Mendy, Benteke, and Dele all combining to offer up absolutely nothing. I particularly enjoyed seeing ‘Redmen’ like loyalty to Dele, a player who has not even appeared in the Turkish League since February!
Right here we go for GW30, and just remember there are big prizes up for grabs, as ‘Romford Rejects’ and ‘Nov’s Nomads’ showed us, all it takes is one good week. Look out also for the Evie Dove Foundation League Cup which starts in GW31 – from GW31 to GW38 you will be pitted against another team in the league, hopefully all the way through the final – new prize fund to be announced next week!
Have a great GW30 everyone, and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation
