Wow, it’s a quick turnaround, so here we go again!…………
Just in case you can’t keep up since I was last in touch, a quick update on your fellow managers…………. In GW 32 Leicester’s caretaker manager delivered their first win since February, Crystal Palace’s caretaker manager delivered a more familiar goalless draw as opposed to the previous ‘out of character’ goal rush, Tottenam’s caretaker manager got the sack, and the 3rd best team in West London’s caretaker manager did not have a game, but will shortly be replaced by the manager that Tottenham would probably love to replace their caretaker for the caretaker manager with………I never said it was easy being a football manager!!
So that tricky eight match GW32 is behind us, and predictably it was awash with armbands for the Egyptian King with over 50 of you plumping for the Liverpool striker up against the flimsy Forest defence who absolutely rolled out the red carpet for Jota’s second goal, and ‘Free Hits’ with 19 of you playing the get out of jail card, pick of the bunch was ‘Kalem Way’ with an impressive 90 points, powered by Johnstone, Saka, Salah, Andreas, and Isak, however ‘R’s Ez dub’ can rest easy again, at least until DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 34, somebody out there is planning a massive play for your 130 point target I assure you!!
Obviously one team that did not play their Free Hit, was ‘Clatts FC’ who nonchalantly strolled through another week, made no transfers, played 8 players including a ‘hit for six’ Eric Dier, and yet still amassed a very respectable 45 points, the strategy of doing ‘absolutely nothing’ once again paying dividends! Can they hit that all important season long target of 1950 points – I’ll keep you updated………
In other news, ‘Studley Constable FC’, despite being as interested in their team as Ben White is in football, extended their lead in the Evie Dove Foundation League with a Free Hit powered 73 points, including a lucky promotion from the bench for Isak’s 13 points (no bitterness at all from Bad Havertz leads 2 U who were knocked out of the cup as a result!), …….can anyone stop ‘Studley’ now? The chasing pack has got to go for some big differentials in the closing weeks……..lets see if anyone is prepared to gamble it all to bring down our leader!!
Meanwhile in the Evie Dove Foundation Cup, the tie of the last round was surely ‘KTFC’ on 71 points v ‘Dan Hoare’s Heros’ on 69 points, ‘Dan’ has to feel hard done by there with a score good enough to beat most other teams, but that’s the luck of the draw – on we go to the next round – down to 64 teams now for the £150 prize.
Then on to GW33, If you had not noticed, it starts tonight…….yes, tonight………the deadline is 18:00, prior to Wolves nil nil draw against Palace later in the evening……so get your teams sorted and don’t forget that GW34 follows on quickly on Saturday lunchtime so effectively you are planning for two gameweeks today, unless you are already ahead of the curve. It’s fast and furious but still all to play for on those cash prizes!
Have a great GW and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation
