So here we go, it’s another quick turnaround, and more importantly it’s quite possibly a season defining DOUBLE GAMEWEEK, for Brighton, Fulham, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, and West Ham.
But before we head on to GW34, here’s a quick round up of GW33 – team of the week was ‘purple reign’, an inspired choice of Kevin de Bruyne as captain delivering 38 points and a front two of Kane and Haaland adding another 25 points, all adding up to a remarkable 92 points, very well played ‘purple’.
At the top of the league ‘Studley Constable’ had another strong week, maintaining a 30 point lead, now pursued by ‘Romford Rejects’ with a sound 80 points, and ‘Crystal Pellis’ just a few points behind – come on guys, this is the gameweek to throw caution to the wind, throw in some differentials and try and reel in ‘Studley’!!
In the Evie Dove Foundation Cup, the double is still on for ‘Studley Constable’, who was involved in an almighty tussle with ‘Jays XI’ producing the tie of the round – in the end ‘Studley’ squeaked through with 66 points against ‘Jays’ 65 points. Hard lines ‘Jays’, if only you’d changed the captaincy from Wilson to Haaland, the giant killing would have been complete, however I admire the differential captaincy pick, it so nearly paid off!
Sadly also, 25 teams incredibly missed out on the Raya 9 pointer, as you all chose to go with Arrizabalaga in between the sticks for a 1 pointer, and left the Brentford man on the bench – when will we ever learn about the pecking order in West London!!!
In ‘Fewest Transfers’ news, ‘Clatts FC’ once again laughed in the face of all of us that spend hours agonising over our team, tweaking it, making last minute changes, telling our mates about how we almost transferred in this player and that player but then changed our minds etc, etc………… Meanwhile ‘Clatts’ once again did……..absolutely nothing……and……. despite having a bench consisting of Mitrovic, who is banned, and Cash and Ake, both of whom are injured, they once again ambled through the gameweek with 67 points……totally remarkable.
So with 5 game weeks to go, ‘Clatts’ needs 263 points to win the ‘Fewest Transfers’ prize fund of £125 – can they really go through the entire season with no transfers at all??
‘Clatts’ if you are out there, don’t forget you can still play your wildcard, your bench boost, and your triple captain and you will still qualify for the prize………..somehow however I suspect that you are now looking to go all the way and claim the prize without ever interacting with your team, a sporting achievement that would surely rank right up there with the 2016 Champions League Final??!!
So all that leaves is for us to look forward to GW34 – this is it guys……it is time…….. your targets are as follows
- League Leader – ‘Studley Constable’ – 2247 points
- Best Non Triple Captain GW (inc. Bench Boost) – 147 points
- Best Triple Captain GW – 115 points
- Best Free Hit – 130 points
Here’s to an absolutely massive Game week, and all the very best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
