Just 2 days to go and things are really hotting up………….. the Evie Dove Foundation League now has 150 teams entered and we have raised £2200!!
A massive thank you to all of you who have already signed up, please don’t forget that the deadline is 18:30 on Friday 11th August by this time you must have chosen your team, and used the code to enter the Evie Dove Foundation League.
We are still hopeful too that there will be a late surge of entrants – looking at the overall league so far 5.3 million teams have been created, and we would expect to see 11 million by the deadline on Friday, so hopefully that’s an indicator of what is to come in our league too!

It’s been wonderful to see so many new teams signing up, thanks for getting involved, a big welcome to all of you………… and of course It’s been lovely to see some old names of 22/23 vintage returning to the fray…………you will all be pleased to welcome back the newly revitalised ‘Redmenii’, a team that as we know specialises in the art of selecting players that have long since moved on from the Premier League………….and who at their pre-season press conference yesterday (aka a telephone call to me) unveiled their striker………. Ivan Toney………… a player suspended until January following a series of gambling indiscretions……………this is genuine, I promise you I am not making this up………….
Amazingly ‘Redmenii’ are not alone, over 10k of the 5.3m teams already created have also gone for the Brentford man as their ‘man up top’ !!!!
Last year’s league winner ‘Studley Constable FC’ has also cruised into town, sporting a new look ‘Sonny & Schar’ moniker – like what you’ve done there champ………and welcome back too to last season’s Evie Dove Foundation Cup Winner ‘Dirty Martinez’, now rebranded as ‘Garnacho Cheese’……………….. However we are all waiting with bated breath to see if the main man ‘Clatts FC’ is going to make a return, after his incredible, possibly never to be beaten, ‘Zero Transfers’ score of 1959 points in 22/23……..so far the enigma that is ‘Clatts’ is yet to break their silence, all shall be revealed in the next 48 hours…………….
For those of you that are gunning for the aforesaid £75 ‘Zero Transfers’ prize, you will be pleased to hear that if you have created your team and used your code to enter the league that is it, you are done, welcome to the world of Fantasy Football, now just sit back and enjoy the show!………….
For those of you that are aiming for the £200 top prize, or the £50 prize for the winner for the month of August, it is time to start endlessly tinkering with those teams, with some big questions still unanswered…….
…….will Harry Kane be playing in the Prem or the Bundesliga….14% of teams so far have taken the gamble that he stays………..
…….will Trent Alexander Arnold be playing in midfield or defence…….22% of teams so far are banking on the assist machine stepping forwards……….
……..will it be Ramsdale or Raya between the sticks for Arsenal’s inviting opening run of fixtures against Forest, Crystal Palace and Fulham………a huge 20% are on Arsenal man, albeit the 7% on the Brentford man will be laughing if he moves, a very neat way of getting four Arsenal players into your team????
……..and so on……..and so on……can you believe it is all starting again????………ah, the agony!
……….and amazingly, we already have our first managerial casualty of the season, with Julien Lopetegui the Wolves manager given the old ‘mutual consent’ kibosh……be careful out there people, it’s a precarious game this football management lark!!
