Gameweek 15

What a weekend!!!! Thrilling comebacks, late goals, whistle happy referees……..it was all going on……..even the Euro 24 draw got a bit hot and steamy!! In the Evie Dove League, we saw some movement at the top following last week’s call to arms………with ‘Gylo’s Galacticos’ closing the gap on ‘DC United’ to 48 points, with a rare slip up from our leader, a hit for minus four points seeing pirouetting goalscorer Solanke transferred out and non-scoring Isak brought into the fray……is this the first sign of fragility shown by our leader??? We shall see…….we are quickly back into action again tomorrow so we can all put those mistakes behind us……albeit maybe not Paul Heckingbottom…..it appears no-one survives a 5-0 drubbing at Burnley….and welcome back Chris Wilder the man they sacked last time they were the worst team in the Premier League!!!!

A good spread of captaincy this week, led by 107 Haalands and 45 Salahs – both coming good with assists, however both missed open goals…… Haalands going wide, Salahs blazed over the bar duly declining the opportunity to hit the 200 goal mark………… particular commiserations to  ‘Haalandaise Sauce’ who rolled out the triple captain chip expecting a hatful for Salah against leaky Fulham……….and then of course Haaland was denied another (almost certain) assist as the referee played the advantage, then once the advantage played out, thought better of it and gave a free kick much to the disadvantage of the man from Norway who reacted like a man with Grealish in his fantasy football team………is it only me, or is it particularly enjoyable seeing things not quite go City’s way? 😉

In happier captaincy news 11 of you benefitted from Watkins late late show, 4 of you hung on in there with Son despite his VAR hat-trick last week and were rewarded with a nice 20 points despite the OG………….however captaincy choice of the week once again goes to our faithful back marker ‘Redmenii’, whose loyalty to Trent Alexander Arnold paid for the second week in a row with a lovely 26 point haul………time to get him in your team as he’s looking more and more like a midfielder?????

Team of the week, and our early December leader was the wittily named ‘Witty Name’ an impressive 81 points powered by Son, Gordon, Saka, Watkins, Haaland and Charlie Taylor……. you know it’s your week when even your Burnley defender weighs in with 10 points! Great work ‘Witty’ and good luck staying top of the pile in December, the games are going to come thick and fast!!!!

On that note, we are back to it tomorrow, your deadline is 18:00 on Tuesday night – do not get caught out!!! Have a great Gameweek 15 everyone, and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
