So GW17 has finally played out with the Bournemouth v Luton points levelled up, the Solanke 6 points (plus the 3 bonus points he was sitting on) returned to zero, hopefully you had a good first sub on the bench!!
It was an entertaining weekend……….delighted to see Roy Hodgson happy again, almost sneering at Pep Guardiola, a positive step after his mood the previous week post Liverpool………… Just for a minute there it looked like Roy might have lost his love for the game, but all it takes is for your main man to score a late penalty and the world looks rosy again. Sound familiar???
In other news we lost another brave colleague with Steve Cooper getting the chop……….welcome back Nuno…..Nottingham in December is going to be a little different to Saudi…….and the merry go round will inevitably continue…….we look forward to Steve Cooper taking the reins at Crystal Palace in due course!!
Meanwhile highlight of the weekend for me was either
a) if you love football………..Odergaards sublime inch perfect pass to Saka
b) if you love the pantomime, it was Martinez v Maupay, slapstick comedy at its absolute best, at the end of which somehow it was only Boubacar Kamara who got his marching orders……………
A notable mention too for Raul Jimenez, loved that clip on MOTD of him watching the replay on the monitor of him leaping into Sean Longstaff……..no-one wants to have their worst moments at work played back to them like that!! Just when ‘Carounited’ was celebrating the genius move to captain the man from Mexico duly paying back with 44 points over the last two gameweeks, this minus 4 brought them thudding back to reality!!
Meanwhile in the Evie Dove Foundation League, DC United remain in the lead……… however things are about to get interesting……… be very afraid ‘DC’………whisper it quietly……….the champ is back………we can see ya ‘Sonny & Schar’ ……….starting to glide through the gears as we approach the second half of the season, an impressive GW score of 71 points ……however not quite the top score of the GW – that particular honour went, for the second time this season, to ‘Clueless Callys Club’ with an impressive Palmer and Kulusevski powered 77 points, nice work not so clueless Cally!
As for December, ‘FC Toni Basel’ retained their lead over ‘Haven’t Jota Clue’………..but you know who is tucked in behind in the pack……..four games down, three to go, £50 at stake……….good luck everyone………….
And before we know it another gameweek is upon us, your deadline is this evening (Thursday) at 18:30……don’t get caught out, its that Roy of sunshine kicking us off at 20:00………all the best everyone, and a very happy Christmas from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
