Gameweek 22

Wasted potential……weak decisions…….taking us backwards…….no structured plan……….sound familiar anyone????

We get it Woy…….it’s not easy this game…….particularly when you have to endure the longest GW in history with an average score of 47 points…………and now even when it’s over we’ve got to wait until Tuesday 31st January  for the next deadline!!

At least some of you managed to spice things up in GW21……..we are in the second half of the season and that of course means we all have a second wildcard available……..thirty one teams took advantage and went for a whole shiny new collection of players, including ‘Can I have Aguerd’ with a massive 94 points, putting them top of the league for January………a very winnable month with only two gameweeks in the mix!

Spare a thought of course for those teams ploughing their own furrow in ‘The Clattenburg Trophy’……….to them a wildcard is only for the weak……..these brave teams plough on with the same fifteen players week in week out come what may…….and is it starting to develop into a one team show???………..’Still No Changes’……….who remarkably are in 39th position with 1185 points, are now holding an 82 point lead over closest rival ‘MarkRashfood.com’……..we will watch them do nothing with interest!

As for captaincy……….no Salah, no Haaland, no Son made it an interesting week……..most popular was Watkins  (2 points), next up Saka (6 points), and third most popular Palmer (20 points)……… well done to the 31 teams who went with the Chelsea man……….. however you were all trumped by ‘Pain in Dias’ the only team to make the now very obvious choice of Salah replacement Jota, delivering a massive 38 points……. Well done ‘Dias’, you showed us all the way there.

A couple of Free Hits also launched into the box,, and it is fair to say ‘Odergaardium Leviosa’ they are hunting you down……… This time it was ‘KTKikkas’ and ‘Lucas team’ who played that oh so valuable chip, with ‘KT’ coming mightily close to toppling ‘Odergarardium’  from top spot ………’KTs’ 84 points falling just short of the 89 point target………congrats nonetheless on the inspired De Bruyne captaincy 25 minute cameo……a very smart move that could pay dividends over the coming weeks…….

As for the Evie Dove Foundation League ‘Sonny & Schar’ retained top spot……however it was good to see ‘Crystal Pellis’ enter the fray, only 6 points behind, whilst ‘DC United’ started to show signs of regrouping, nestled nicely in 3rd place following recent wobbles…….all nicely set up as the business end of the season starts to hove into view……

It was also the week that Ivan Toney entered the 23/24 Fantasy Football fray, with the ‘Hollywood Bets’ advertising on his shirt! Both Callum Hudson Odoi with his open invitation to shoot accompanied by a particularly wafty leg, and the ever patient ‘Redmenii’ were both clearly delighted to welcome him back, our  old favourite once again surging into second from bottom into what is turning into an absolute ding dong battle with ‘Sunnybank’!

So onto GW22………let the Jurgen Klopp farewell tour begin……don’t get tripped up by a Tuesday deadline……..18:00 on 30th January to be precise………and remember there is £50 at stake for the January prize! Good luck everyone and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
