So that’s it, the Bournemouth and Luton double gameweek has been and gone…… 67 of you went for captain Solanke………. three of you even tripled him up……. and you must have been feeling very smug as he stepped up to to slot home THAT penalty…………..well that went well!!………At least he redeemed himself in game two with a goal and a reasonably solid 16 points…….. or 24 to those of you that played the TC chip…………just about got away with that one!
Talking of Solanke, I could not help but notice that ‘Warnes Wonders’ had him on the bench alongside Maddison, Branthwaite and Pickford………I can only assume that having been usurped by ‘The Floppy Stars’ last week with 34 points on the bench, ‘Warnes’ was absolutely determined to win back the title……….No such luck however with those four subs only drumming up 21 points between them………. Just a heads up ‘Warnes’ there is no cash prize available for this title…………however I admire your spirit in going all out to top that particular leaderboard nonetheless!
Second choice for captaincy was usual suspect Haaland………an amazing 56 of you were loyal to the Norwegian despite the fixture……… and true to form for Liverpool v City at Anfield Virgil Van Dijk had him firmly in his pocket for 90 minutes, yielding a disappointing 4 points for Haaland captainers.
At the top of the table ‘Crystal Pellis’ continue to lead the way, closely followed by ‘Witty Name’ and “Warnocks Warriors’………. whilst in the March stakes ‘DCFC’ leads the charge with two gameweeks to go………albeit one of them is very tiny!!
So on that subject………… GW29…….what’s it to be?……….Free Hit or tough it out with as many Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham players as you can afford?? ……..I’m thinking Son off the back of 17 points last week might be popular………… intrigued to see exactly what his ownership percentage is this week.
By the way, remember even if you are competing for ‘The Clattenburg Trophy’ you are permitted to play your ‘Free Hit’. Here is the note I shared in GW4
“For clarity if you play your wildcard, you are out of the running – a wildcard counts as transfers for the purpose of the Clattenburg Trophy. However you are allowed to play your Triple Captain, Free Hit and Bench Boost – maybe keep those in your back pocket for a while though, they could be crucial later in the season…..“
So let’s get this painful GW out of the way, then the international break, then back to it properly in a couple of weeks time. Your deadline this week is a luxurious 13:30 on Saturday……….typical isn’t it…….all that extra time and virtually no players to choose from!!
Have a good gameweek everyone, and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
