End of Season Round Up

And that’s it……..just like that the season is done!……..

Congratulations Liverpool, Newcastle, Palace, Chelsea and ‘Lads its Tottenham’……great to see some new names on trophies……..and of course it was great to see Man City without any silverware, with 115 charges still to follow, and a Manchester United manager taking the unprecedented step of offering an end of season apology…….can you ever imagine Sir Alex Ferguson doing that???!!

In the Evie Dove League the cash prizes are all wrapped up so here’s the full honours list.

In the league we crowned our winner Netflix and Chilwell who finished with an amazing total of 2668 points…….a stratospheric 616th in the world…..no wonder they were so difficult to reign back in…..impressive stuff Netflix……£100 on its way to you, and well done also to second placed Hardly Athletic on 2603 points, £50 is your reward………..and to third placed Uptown Dunk, another fine performance from our 22/23 champ on 2581 points, a £25 cash prize fo you.

In the Clattenburg Trophy, where complete idleness is the name of the game it was Frozen Foxes who recorded the best ever score for a team with no changes, a total of 2197 points, beating 23/24 champ Cook Burns Johnson into second on 2118, and a creditable third for FPL novice Chaddy’s Champs on 2074 points. Well done to all of you, exceeding 2000 points with the same 15 players all season is no mean feat, in order the cash prizes on their way to you are £75, £30 and £20.

As for top gameweek, well this was done and dusted in Gameweek 24, Eddies Eagles notched 155 points for £50, courtesy of Triple Captain Salah with a ridiculous 87 points, and 17 points a piece for Tarkowski and Wood……….meanwhile one point back Gravy’s Greats and third placed To Haaland Back collect £30 and £20 prizes respectively………..

And it was also Gameweek 24 that saw Bean Flickers pocket the £50 on offer for best Free Hit. Whilst many of us saved it for a blank gameweek, Flickers went on the front foot and it paid off handsomely with a very neat 129 points.

And of course it was the final monthly prize……..overall first and second placed Netflix and Chilwell and Hardly Athletic both got involved, topping up their coffers with another £15 and £10, but the top prize of £25 went fittingly to a team named after the PL Champions Manager Slot Machine………pleased also to see Palmer Violets finally turn up with a late but ultimately pointless charge!

And in the Evie Dove Cup it was Stranger Mings who stepped forwards to lift the trophy beating Sambuca Boys who were left to rue their decision to play Martinez, whose rush of blood to the head delivered minus 2 points, over Pickford who despite surely being on the booze since Sunderland snatched victory on Saturday afternoon, was sat on the bench nursing 11 points…….Heartbreak for Sambuca Boys and congratulations Stranger Mings, your name is etched in history forever more!!

And it was a double whammy for Sambuca Boys who also had to shell out on their side bet, and of course the ever generous Birdy will be digging deep after their annual loss, at this rate you will fund your own Evie Dove Foundation Hero!!
