Gameweek 18

Gameweek 17 was a huge gameweek with an average score of 60, and a top worldwide score of 151 points..…….in the Evie Dove League we saw Howe’s the Bacon on a massive 107 points, Calafiori Dreamin on 106, Kopwinners73 and Stockport Messi with 104, and ominously last years champ Crystal Pellis on 102………. all benefitting from a combination of Salah captain (42 points), Isak (17 points) and Rogers (14 points) or Luis Diaz (13 points)………the gameweeks other big scorer was Gabriel Jesus (16 points) although sadly no-one in the Evie Dove league owned him, denying us a raft of ‘he clearly comes into his own at this time of year’ jokes!!

Well done all of you for getting in the 100 club………..and well done Saka Spuds……… your gameweek 2 score of 114 points still stands…..that was courtesy of a Triple Captain Haaland hat-trick…..remember those days……however the pack is hunting you down and they came close to toppling you………very very close!

At the top of the Evie Dove league, it was a straight shoot out between the Salah captainers and the Palmer captainers, with Endo the Line, Netflix and Chilwell, and Ghost Monkeys going into Christmas in the top three slots courtesy of the Egyptian King……….. while the festively named EnzOh No you Didn’t tumbled into 4th with the Chilled Mancunian drawing an armband blank………they will go again in GW18 with home fixtures against Leicester and Fulham respectively.

Salah is now on 177 points after 17 gameweeks…….keeping his average of 10+ points a week going, an incredible run……….he is the first ever player to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas in the Premier League era…….and this is also the sixth premier League season in which he has both scored and assisted 10+goals, the most of any player in Premier League history, overtaking Wayne Rooney’s five………..One more record to go for is his Fantasy Premier League haul of 303 points from 17/18 season, is this there for the taking?

In other news, it was quite a gameweek for bench activity……. EnzOh, and Netflix, despite their lofty positions both had a bash at the ‘most points on the bench’ title with a Morgan Rogers powered 25 points and 23 points in reserve respectively…………however they were well and truly trumped by YouGottaRohlWithIt……………. from this point forwards you will be accompanying Dontnowwhatimdoing on an impressive 32 points with Sels (7), Mykolenko (7), Kerkez (6), Rogers (14) all contributing the square root of nothing………….sorry Rohl…….it’s one of those classic FPL weeks when you get a brilliant score of 90 points and end up totally frustrated!

At least you were in reasonable company……..in total an eye watering 22 teams benched Rogers and he punished you with the perfect FPL midfielder combo…..a goal….an assist…..3 bonus points…..and a sneaky clean sheet as he was subbed 2 minutes before the City consolation goal……..ooh that gives me an opportunity to mention another loss for City……..Pep is going to run out of fingers if this carries on…….nine losses in the last twelve now!!!

And remember if you are frustrated with FPL……….sometimes just blowing the whole thing up can make you feel a whole lot better……..just ask legends………..they transferred out 11 (ELEVEN) legends and brought in 11 (ELEVEN) new legends, incurring a 40 point hit in the process…….and to boot they played their bench boost………all in all 95 points, less 40, for a 55 point total………that’s the way to show’em legends……..Pep could learn a lot from you!

In the December stakes, The Meggomix,  Ghost Monkeys and Tommy’s Tankers now hold the top three spots……..last week I said you only had two gameweeks to go but I forgot that December is such a football bonanza…….we do in fact still have two gameweeks to go……with deadlines on 26th and 29th December! And breaking news……….in the Clattenburg Trophy, we have a NEW LEADER……..well done Chaddys Champ’s……….someone has finally displaced Cook Burns Johnson it’s just a one point lead, but clearly doing absolutely nothing is paying off……the Paxton double is on!!!!!
