It is finally here…..after weeks of chopping and changing your team, and then chopping and changing it again, the wait is almost over……… it all kicks off tonight with Manchester United v Fulham……. Ten Hag has already announced that United can win the league, so let’s see tonight what he knows that we don’t??

It’s great to see so many new teams in the league, thank you to all of you for making a donation and getting involved….now you are in it is all about getting your team well set up for one of our many cash prizes, once again we are making a massive £1,000 prize pot available, and this season we are going to try and reward as many teams as possible. We’d like to keep everyone engaged even if your season does not start as well as you hoped!!

The Clattenburg Trophy – £125 Prize Pot
First Place – £75
Second Place – £30
Third Place – £20
These prizes are for the teams that score the highest number of points without making any transfers at all during the season. The trophy is named in honour of the Premiership & Gladiators legend who landed the inaugural prize in 22/23 with ‘Clatts FC’ delivering 1959 points, a record which was smashed by the aptly named ‘Still No Changes’ in 23/24 with 2071 points!
So pick your 15 players by 18:30 tonight and entrust them with bringing home the spoils in May 2025! You can make substitutions each week and play a different combination of players but it must always be based on your same squad of 15.
No wildcards can be played but you can take advantage of the ‘Free Hit’, ‘Triple Captain’ and ‘Bench Boost’. Regarding the ‘Mystery Chip’ which will be launched in January 2025 we will take a view on that nearer the time!
Ten Monthly Prizes from August 2024 to May 2025 – £500 Prize Pot
First Place – £25
Second Place – £15
Third Place – £10
Every month there will be a prize for the top three points scorers in that month, so over the course of a ten month season that means we have a huge 30 cash prizes available!
Best Free Hit – £50 Prize Pot
The Free Hit is a chip to be treasured – it can only be used once a season, and you can pick an entirely new 15 player squad for one gameweek only. One prize winner of £30……use it wisely!
Top Gameweek Score – £100 Prize Pot
First Place – £50
Second Place – £30
Third Place – £20
This rewards the teams that score the highest points tally in a single gameweek, meaning every single week you have a chance of securing a cash prize. In season 22/23 147 points was the top score, topped in 23/24 by 155 points, so that’s the kind of target you need to be aiming for.
Evie Dove Foundation Cup – £50 Prize Pot
Later in the season around March time the Evie Dove Foundation Cup will commence – each week you will be pitched head to head against another team from the league, the winner goes through to the next round. Winner takes all…one prize winner of £50!!
Overall League Winner – £175 Prize Pot
First Place – £100
Second Place – £50
Third Place – £25
And of course there are some teams that are very very good at this Fantasy Football malarkey, previous champions ‘Studley Constable FC’ and Crystal Pellis’ showing us all how it is done. This year we’ve got prizes for the top three places, seems fair for all that effort over a 38 gameweek season!
Paying out winnings
If you are the lucky winner of a cash prize then we will either pay it directly into your bank account, or you can choose to donate it back to the charity. Totally your decision, it is all handled completely privately.
Side Bets
You may also decide that you want to go head to head with one of your friends or family members, it is great fun each week to check out how you are faring against your arch rival! We have been extremely grateful previously to the losing teams that have had to make good on their bet through a donation to the Foundation. I’m aware of a few of these that are already in place (yes I’m talking about you ‘Sambuca Boys’, ‘Tis is Howe we do it’ and ‘Birdy’)……..If any of you are doing this let me know so I can watch out for those local rivalries!!
Heroes
And of course, most importantly all of this fantasy football silliness is for a great cause…..over the last two seasons we have used the funds raised to sponsor two amazing heroes Sam Archer and Rowen Seglah. We will keep you posted on how we spend this years funds!
