Gameweek 6

Another gameweek under our belts…..another Haaland goal, that’s 10 goals this season having only touched the ball 105 times, quite incredible…….and he is now out on his own as the top points scorer on 63 points, followed in second by Luis Diaz on 51 points, this weeks most transferred in player with just under a million teams jumping on that Columbian bandwagon…….well done to the 6 teams in the TEDF league that captained him this week for a tasty 32 points, outscoring his teammate Salah (12 points) who for the first time this season was our most captained player with 78 of you giving him the armband v the 73 that kept the faith with Haaland (18 points) despite him lining up against the formidable Arsenal defence.

At the top of the league ‘Stockport Messi’ extended their lead with an impressive GW score of 88 points………… ‘Under my Cucurella’ played the wildcard and leapt into second place by somehow finding space in the starting eleven for Salah, Haaland, Watkins, Diaz, Alexander Arnold, and Mbeumo………and the top three is rounded off by  ‘Canary Muff’, welcome back to the party to a team without a mention in dispatches since GW23 of season 22/23!

As for September, the maverick of 23/24 is back in typical all or nothing style, ‘Flying Without Ings’ powered in with a wildcard, a Nicolas Jackson 16 pointer, and a Luis Diaz captaincy 32 pointer for a stunning 100 points……you take the lead for September…….. two gameweeks down and one to go……….remember its £25 for first place, 15 for second and £10 for third…………..all to play for for all of you in the top ten and beyond………..!

Five gameweeks in, it is also time to get our first view of the Clattenburg Trophy….just as a reminder, we’ve got a £125 prize pot available with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the highest scoring teams that make ZERO transfers (no wildcards either)!

Early days, but in the lead currently is ‘Chicken Tika Mo Sala’ with a cracking score of 356 points……that’s 20th in the league off the back of doing absolutely nothing! 

Making up the top ten at this early stage of the season are ‘Saka Spuds’, ‘Cook Burns Johnson’ (last years champ lurking ominously in third place), Men with ven’, ‘van de ven diagram’, ‘Onana Nana’, ‘Chaddy’s Champs’, ‘Emma’s XV’, ‘Gylo’s Galacticos’ and ‘The Cracky Bells’………good work all of you………we will watch with interest as you kick back and let the points roll in!

A couple of bench boosts this week for ‘Dyche Daredevils’ and ‘Thiago’s Titans’……..sadly that treasured once a season chip only yielded one point between them………….March 2024 winner and 23/24 Cup Finalist ‘Dyche Daredevils’ delivering that cherished point courtesy of Everton’s Iroegbunam, who fared better than more illustrious bench compatriots Diogo Jota and Rico Lewis. Better luck with that chip next season both of you!!!

Onto GW6, the deadline this week is Saturday at 11:00, 90 minutes before Newcastle v Man City, and remember if it doesn’t go your way you can always give the nearest chair a right good kicking!!
