An uneventful GW 22 with an average overall score of 44 points saw little change at the top of the Evie Dove league, and in the Clattenburg Trophy, whilst in the January stakes so so soucek it out consolidated their lead, remaining 20 points in front of Kobbie & Paste, welcome to the party my friend, and Zirkzee Lannister our 22/23 Evie Dove Foundation Cup Winner. Three cash prizes totalling £50 at stake, last weekend of January, big weekend for these three and the chasing pack!!!
Team of the week was Frying Pan Man on 77 points, nice work with the Foden captaincy for a lovely 38 points, and a special mention for Redmeniii with 72 points delivered courtesy of Foden, and captain Darwin (22 points) finally scoring with shot 36 and 37! Long time readers (is that actually a thing?) will be delighted to hear that our old friend is still knocking around the lower reaches of the league, and now and again, much like a broken clock, hitting the FPL mark!
So onto GW23, and lots of selection headaches. Is it time to get Foden in off the back of 42 points in the last three gameweeks or does the run of games against Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs and Forest mean you avoid Man City at all costs?………is it time to swim against the tide and jump off Salah after two blank gameweeks……or is a home game v Ipswich followed by a double Gameweek laid out perfectly for the Egyptian King. And what of Justin Kluivert, the first player this season to get more than one 20+ point haul from a single Gameweek? And of course don’t forget that from GW24 onwards you need to have up to £1.5m available to bring in your assistant manager for a stretch of three games, full price list below. And there is a double gameweek in GW24 and a blank gameweek in GW29 looming in the not so distant future……..
……….Lots to ponder……..thankfully you have the whole of Saturday morning to make your final decisions, change your mind, reinstate your original plan, then change your mind again……….and so on…….you know how the FPL Hokey Cokey goes!
