WE……….ARE……….BACK!
That’s it everyone……..summers nearly done……..all we’ve got now to keep us sane in the run up to Christmas is the football…… and of course our beloved Fantasy Premier League.
I am delighted to announce that we already have almost 200 teams in our league and I’m expecting a flurry of activity in the final few hours………please keep those teams and your donations coming!! This will be our 4th season, and I had a look back at what we have achieved over the previous three seasons from playing this silly game……in total we have raised just under £7,000 for the Evie Dove Foundation, and in addition we have paid out over £2,000 in prizes…..that feels like a great win-win to me! Let’s see what we can get the numbers to this season………..
Right……on to business…… Obviously the most important thing to get sorted out first of all is your team name…..and it is great to see some old favourites back in the league……I always particularly love seeing Rodriyouplonker……the old ones are the best ones!
Liverpool’s signing of Wirtz has also been a gift to all Fantasy Football players……has a player ever had a surname more suited to FPL?? In our league alone we’ve already got First the Wirtz, Wirtz team yet, Wirtz Name Ever!, Wirtz team ever?, Wirtz Among Equals, Your Wirtz nightmare, and Wirtz Case Scenario…….thank you Florian, you’ve helped massively with one of the bigger decisions we have to make at this time of year!
Some of the other corkers I’ve seen in the Evie Dove League so far (and I hope they are all your own work!)……….Glasner half Fulkrug……Swedish Howe Mafia ……Frimpingpong……Tymon for Stoppages……..Brennan Jerry’s…….Don Look Back Elanga…….Matz Sels Sea Shells, however, in my view, all of these are trumped by the genius that is Delli Callie………the team managed by none other than Evie’s Auntie Callie…….Love this!!!
I did also spot that we’ve got one team entitled Pending Moderation……I did briefly see the name that had been submitted before the Premier League intervened and it’s fair to say this young man is definitely a chip off the old block 😂……..I’ll say no more albeit I’ll keep you updated on the Premier Leagues ultimate decision on whether it makes the cut or not……..
And of course this is not the only decision we have to make at this time of year…. We’ve also got the agony of deciding how on earth we narrow our £100m spending down to just 15 players……….do we go with Salah (53% owned), or do we go with Haaland (22% owned)…..WHOA THERE, only 22% of teams have Haaland……has everyone forgotten what a machine this guy is??…………..Or do we go rogue and have neither of them?……..There are plenty of other options out there…….59% have got Cole Palmer, 22% have got Ollie Watkins, while an amazing 17% have got Alexander Isak despite the fact he was not even invited to the Newcastle players bbq, let alone being in their squad!
Anyway, time to stop wittering…….you’ve got work to do……get your team sorted, make your donation and you are good to go. As soon as the league is finalised and I can see how much money we have collected I’ll let you know the prize fund, and prize categories for this season. Please don’t forget to make your donation, I don’t like having to chase you for it but I will if I have to!!
