Gameweek 10

Ten gameweeks in and it’s all about the defenders as our new leader JenniFer Lopez proved……a team with both the big hitters Salah and Haaland (captain) and they scooped 10 points between them……….meanwhile the defence of Van de Ven, Rodon, Gabriel and Senesi scored a massive 50 points……anyone playing three at the back right now is probably missing out!

Close behind are Warthog Dukes and Howe’s the Bacon, with previous leader Barack Opalmer having a shocker leaving Truffert (10) and Rodon (13) on the bench…………never before have we seen such low key players producing such returns!

And that theme continued with numerous teams leaving either Rodon (13), Cash (15) or Van de Ven (23) on the bench……However a couple of teams truly excelled themselves with that prestigious accolade of scoring more points on their bench than the rest of their team……step forward Sagsy with Van de Ven (23), Isidor (7), Vicario (6) ………36 points beats 31 points…….. and Stone Cross FC with Van de Ven (23), Cash (15), Reijnders (1), Dubravka (2)……….41 points beats 40 points. 

A great week also for Mr 55p……….not only did they get the top score of the gameweek on 83 points courtesy of a nice differential Mbuemo captaincy, but they were also replaced by Stone Cross FC on the section of the leaderboard reserved for the team with the highest number of points on their bench in a single gameweek……41 points is impressive…..in four seasons I think that may possibly be an Evie Dove League record!

Rounding off this section, a few of you very sensibly played the Bench Boost and pick of the bunch was Your Wirtz nightmare with 28 point bench boost, powered by you know who…….. Van de Ven. How good must that feel to have a 23 point player on your bench the same week you play your Bench Boost. Does life get any sweeter than that??!!!

Finally in the October stakes last week’s leader Haul or Nothing slipped into joint third with The Matadors and it was SportsBarPinCushion who muscled their way to the top, closely followed by Go with the Flo. Cash prizes on their way to all of you, very well done.

As for next gameweek, you’ve got plenty of time to overthink it and make all those unnecessary extra changes…….your deadline is 13:30 on Saturday afternoon!
