Gameweek 20

Gameweek 19 is done, 2025 is done, and the year ended with Still have no idea delivering the top gameweek score in the Evie Dove League which just about sums it up! A fantastic 69 points powered by Gabriel (15), Bowen (14), and Pickford (10) showed that you’ve definitely been a bit harsh on yourself with that team name!!

And the rest of the gameweek just sort of happened……..blanks for big hitters Ekitike and Haaland meant that the 11 Triple Captains in the Evie Dove League only yielded 6 points…..27 of you used up the Free Hit but none of you got close to the top score of 95 points held by Long Pond Sports XI, best of the bunch was Frimpingpong on 48 points. 6 shrewd managers still had their wildcards left and nicely set themselves up for the second half of the season, albeit Saka Potatoes almost managed to beat their overall score of 34 points with the 33 they left on the bench courtesy in particular of Gabriel (15) and Mukiele (11)……albeit still not a patch on the 41 point record of Stone Cross FC who still holds that worthless accolade!

At the top of the league it is the usual suspects Tymon for Stoppages, It’s who we are mate, and our leader Warthog Dukes who find themselves inside the top10k teams in the world with 1209 points in the bag after 19 gameweeks. And in the Clattenburg Trophy Chaddy’s Champs, Segnahcon and STILL No Changes all kicked back and enjoyed Christmas, wonderfully oblivious to the fact that there has been a frenzy of football going on!

So that just leaves the December stakes, which was dominated by a team rejuvenated by a new younger manager Jossy’s Giant taking the £25 spoils, followed by Here we go! who can now add a £15 win to leading the league after the first Friday night match in GW1 to their list of 25/26 honours, and finally £10 to a Free Hit powered Wembley shook and… Well done to you all, cash prizes on their way and we move seamlessly into the January stakes…..your deadline is 11:00 on Saturday morning…..the gameweeks just keep on coming at this time of year!
