Gameweek 23

A pretty average gameweek with a pretty average score of 40 points is behind us……..it all kicked off with the Manchester derby……..how good were a Carrick inspired United? So good that the three most transferred-in players so far this week are Fernandes, Mbuemo and Dorgu…..is that wise given they are away at Arsenal this weekend???

On the blue side of Manchester, most transferred out player is Foden, and it was yet another disappointing gameweek for Erling Haaland and especially for the 136 teams in the Evie Dove League that once again captained him…..is it time for a change?………Guardiola thought so and subbed him off, and he looked pretty unhappy about it…….or is he going to come good against the Wolves punchbag this Saturday? Meanwhile all you Ekitike managers were rubbing your hands in glee…….after seeing the big Norwegian blank in the early kick off surely Hugo was going to prove a wise choice for the 36 teams that captained him……somehow however despite Liverpool dominating possession and having 32 shots, it was a blank for the Frenchman too……

So some big decisions to make this weekend on captaincy…….Salah is back from the madness of Afcon………Palmer is back and scoring albeit he could not have looked unhappier about notching that penalty………and Wirtz is starting to look like a proper player….plenty of choices out there!

Meanwhile what’s going on with the Premier League managers? Maresca set the tone being the first to goad the board into sacking him, swiftly followed by Amorim, and now we’ve got Oliver Glasner seeing if he can get a few months off before his exit in May! Meanwhile beleaguered Thomas Frank is at the other end of the scale, doing everything he can to cling on by his fingernails following the loss to West Ham in ‘El Sackico’.

In the Evie Dove league it was as you were for Warthog Dukes, Tymon for Stoppages and Stone Cross FC, and likewise literally nothing happened in the Clattenburg as Chaddy’s Champs, STILL No Changes, and Segnahcon all held firm. 

Team of Gameweek 22 was Legacy FC despite being hidden away in the darkest depths, with a Chelsea powered 80 points, benefitting from a nice Vice Captaincy step up for grumpy Cole Palmer (18 points), Sanchez (11) and Joao Pedro (8)……could be a good pointer for the rest of you……this week they play ‘abandoned’ Crystal Palace and after that West Ham, Wolves, and Leeds are on the horizon. As for the January stakes with two gameweeks to go our leader is still Delap Dance, closely followed by crazyh and The Hairy Mumpers.
