Gameweek 24

Just as Arsenal look like they might by stumbling, we also so saw longtime leader Warthog Dukes finally relinquish top spot in the Evie Dove League with a lowly 30 point gameweek score, and a new leader In the Mudryk stepped into their place, while Stone Cross FC held steady in third. Meanwhile BeJarrudeNotTo stormed into the top five with a very impressive 71 points, one of four teams to go against the grain and very shrewdly captain Jarrod Bowen (24 points) as West Ham go on a relegation dodging charge. The other three teams to similarly benefit from Bowen captaincy were Still have no idea, Winners, and DylanStrong……..a great week in the Bowen household, a goal, an assist and an SAS bootcamp victory!

In other news, Manchester United were very good once again, this quote from last week aged about as well as Gazza “the three most transferred-in players so far this week are Fernandes, Mbuemo and Dorgu…..is that wise given they are away at Arsenal this weekend???  So is it now time to go all in on Carrick’s men? Is that guy finally going to get to cut his hair? Or will it all come tumbling down again? So many questions, Fulham up next……..

Team of the week in the Evie Dove League for a second week in a row came from the darkest depths, great to see #ilovethehalfwayhut scoring a huge 80 points, almost double the average and not a chip in sight………a small shining light amongst the many low scores, in particular those recorded by the 156 teams that went with captain Haaland, and in return got a miserable 17 minutes……you might remember that last week in another moment of perceptive foresight I said…….“is it time for a change………Guardiola subbed him off and he looked pretty unhappy about it…….or is he going to come good against the Wolves punchbag this Saturday?”

Bear in mind however it could be worse………HVS, The Hairy Mumpers, Definitely Dunne and 17th IDontknowHow all Triple………yes Triple Captained the Big Norwegian, that’s that chip done for the season I’m afraid! At least someone stepped up in the Man City game…….the referee……I loved that in his first ever Premier League game at 32 years old he was bold enough to stand firm against the VAR and stick with his original decision…….bearing in mind that the VAR was Darren ‘well done boys, good process’ England it was particularly justified!

Talking of young upcoming stars showing their mettle, in the January stakes, the top two crazyh and Delap Dance continue to have an almighty head to head tussle only separated by four points as we go into the final gameweek of January…….good luck to you all, especially these two.

So Gameweek 24 is almost upon us……..word is it is a big GW for the second Wildcard so if you are in that camp you have the luxury of a 13:30 deadline on Saturday to get everything sorted / agonise over the tiniest decisions!
