Gameweek 27

Oh Arsenal……….what are you doing?? Having been nine points ahead with 15 minutes of the Liverpool v Manchester City game to go, the gap to City is now five points and they have a game in hand……game on!

In the Evie Dove league, 33 of you were left feeling as sick as Mikel Arteta as the Gabriel Triple Captaincy amounted to a fairly underwhelming 21 points having briefly looked interesting with an assist and clean sheet on the cards away at Wolves……you can be consoled by the fact that you were in good company…………overall Gabriel was triple captained by 622,854 teams, only Haaland and Salah have been triple captained  in higher numbers in FPL history.

Teams of the week were Frying Pan Man and Tobido or not Tobido both scoring 97 points, the former powered by one of 7 Declan Rice Triple Captaincy’s delivering a tidy 42 points,  the latter by one of 7 Bench Boosts. However, chip of the week went to Cmccarthy34…….what a Bench Boost with Sanchez (1), Joao Pedro (10), Gabriel (7), and Rice (14) doubling their gameweek score!

At the top of the league the top three Warthog Dukes, In the Mudryk and Stone Cross FCremained the same, ……..and the February stakes are off and running with ChampagneSuperRovers, the aforementioned Tobido or not Tobido and Saka Spuds leading the way with two gameweeks to go before the next round of cash prizes………

And of course the managerial chaos continues…….Thomas Frank was sacked by relegation-threatened Spurs, and Sean Dyche became the third manager to lose his job this season at equally relegation-threatened Forest, behind Nuno and Ange Postecoglu, both also previously fired by Spurs. All we needed next was Thomas Frank at Forest to square the circle but sadly it was Perriera, previously sacked by relegation-threatened Wolves! Wonderful also to see 78 year old Harry Redknapp throw his hat into the ring for the Spurs job too…… would have loved to have seen that happen!

That’s all for this week, enjoy a relaxing Saturday morning…..your deadline this week is 13:30 on Saturday……

Good luck everyone and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.
