Gameweek 28

Gameweek 27 happened…….but nothing really happened………. an average gameweek score of 42, and best score of the week was 77 points from a team renowned for saving up all their chips to then end of the season Tis is Howe we do it…………and true to form no chip played, just a nice Henderson (16 points) and O’Reilly (17 points) combo. O’Reilly was in fact the top scorer of the week as the hitherto left back became a number ten and notched two goals, well done to the 22 teams who had him in their squad, albeit Keeping it McGreal and Notorious RBB had to endure the misery of seeing those 17 points go begging as they were tucked away on the bench…….commiserations to both of you.

Talking of top scorers, if anyone watched Forest v Liverpool was this the day that we saw the demise of all time FPL legend Mo Salah?………That performance was truly sad to watch………this is a player who over the years has accumulated over 2000 points and last season broke his own record for a single season with 344 points, bettering 303 points in 17/18……..but unfortunately now he looks a shadow of his former self…….very hard to have him in your team at £14m, let alone captain him which 10 of you did to no avail in GW27………… 

The rest of the captaincy was split between Haaland (76 of you), Joao Pedro (56 of you) and Palmer (26 of you)……..however the most inspired choices came from Norfolk in Chance with 32 points from Henderson courtesy of a clean sheet and penalty save and RAT KING, Muppet Inc, and Escape from Alcaraz who all went for Gyokeres to finally start scoring……and he stepped up with a nice 26 point 2 goal haul……….that said does anyone else find that goal celebration really annoying or is it just me? I really must get out more!

In the transfer market it is the big Chelsea sell off as their fixtures take a turn for the worse……Enzo, Chalobah and Joao Pedro are the three most sold players…..coming in the other way are Virgil Van Dijk, defender cum striker O’Reilly, and Thiago of Brentford, a player whose goals dry up as soon as you pick him………. then start flowing as soon as you sell him!

The top of the Evie Dove league and the Clattenburg Trophy remained with the same top three, so the main excitement this week comes from the February stakes with Saka Spuds, ChampagneSuperRovers, and Bend it like Bates all vying for the cash as we enter the final gameweek, good luck to you all……..
