Gameweek 37

And that’s it…….the last double gameweek of the season is done……and basically Pep pretty much screwed it up for everyone! We had 70 Triple Captains in the Evie Dove League and 63 of them were on the bench on Wednesday evening in the guise of Haaland, Doku and O’Reilly…….Double GW effectively cancelled………thanks Pep!

That said, it was still a high scoring week, and 12 teams in the league joined the 100 club, very well done Cunha believe it, Phylaswinnas, Wirtz team yet, Barack Opalmer, Bench Warmers, Here we go!, Eze Come Eze Go, Up the Rams, Real Madras, Saka Potatoes, Wanchope Shop FC……and pick of the bunch was Eze LikeSundayMornin with 111 points powered by Tarkowski (15), Gabriel (11), Anderson (12), Doku (12) and TC Haaland (33). …….well done to all of you.

Turning our attention to the business end of the season and all eyes are on In the Mudryk………just like Arsenal can they do the league and cup double or will the unthinkable happen?? At the top of the league closing the gap to just 18 points is Stone Cross FC with a fantastic gameweek score of 97 points……could they possibly recover from that all time low of leaving 41 points on their bench all the way back in GW9 to win the whole thing outright……that would be impressive!

In the cup we were all watching to see if Undeniably Jim could do the business and deny that big cup and league double and it was desperately close………one point between them and all Undeniably Jim needed was Haaland to set foot on the pitch for one second and those Triple Captain points would have sent them through…….but alas Pep was not obliging!

So on we move to the semi-finals, just four teams now fighting for the £40 prize…..but more importantly the opportunity to have their team name up in lights on this page forever……..Didier Dshamps, winner of the 23/24 Evie Dove Cup, now takes on responsibility for denying the In the Mudryk league and cup double, whilst on the other side of the draw two managers who sum up exactly what this league is all about go head to head……good luck It’s only football! and Mturu FC……..I love that FPL has generated a whole new found ‘love’ of football for you both!

And finally in the May stakes its one of those GW36 100 club members Saka Potatoes that leads the way…….. followed by Frimpingpong, impressive considering they left 30 points on their bench, an almost clean sweep of Bournemouth players in reserve…….and in third is Phylaswinnas……however plenty of you still in the running for the monthly prizes………good luck to you all…….big money at stake!
