21 minutes…….the time it takes for a pretty decent park run…….that was all it took for Mr Marinakis to make his mind up………and that was it for Ange……. Sacked in the morning? No chance mate……You’ve got to love the theatre of that big red empty seat too!…….

So we lose our second Premier League manager of the season……remember all of you it is a cut throat business, take care over your decisions!

That said the majority of you are now playing it pretty safe……167 of you went with captain Haaland…….and he delivered his customary two goals and 26 captaincy points……meanwhile 26 of you went with the muscle memory of backing Salah to haul against Man Utd…….surely if he was going to score against anyone it would be the Red Devils, however not even that normally accommodating opposition could pull the Egyptian King out of his slump. Time to sell? Many people think so, he is the most transferred out player so far this week, closely followed by Joao Pedro and Gyokeres, two other non-scoring centre forwards.

Coming in the other way……. most transferred in is Woltemade……not surprised after that goal……never has the phrase ‘nice touch for a big fella’ been more appropriate! Second is Mateta…….a cracking gameweek but has a hat-trick ever been rounded off with a more disappointing finish as he ballooned a last minute match winning chance over the bar?!

In the Evie Dove League league Barack Opalmer and Warthog Dukes remained in the top two spots, and we welcome Howe’s the Bacon into the top three……meanwhile in the October stakes first position was taken by Haul or Nothing with a Bench Boost powered 102 points……for the second week in a row FC Touché just about hung on to their highest GW score, this time by just a point. With one gameweek to go before the October cash prizes kick in, in close pursuit are Tamerz and Eze Come Eze Go, good luck to all of you in the final gameweek of the month!

Bench Boost was a popular chip in GW8, ten of you collecting points from fifteen players, special mention for Glazernomics with a very substantial 28 points being added on top, they also find themselves in the October top ten. All change also for sixteen of you as those wildcards keep on coming. Two Free Hits………Change Name just coming up short on 73 points meaning Mr 55p just retains the Free Hit lead for another week at least. And two Triple Captains, one for Haaland (obviously), a nice 39 points for Boleyn Boys…………and one for Sesko (what?!) for Sesko Clubcard who were clearly placing a blend of loyalty and blind optimism over logic, as the man from Slovenia racked up a miserly 3 Triple Captain points!
