Gameweek 4

Settling into the season now, a slightly less exciting GW3 delivered an average score of 51 points, but there was still plenty of note in the Evie Dove League….

At the top of the league we have Que Salah Salah on 256 points putting them inside the top 10k teams in the world out of 10.6m teams, followed by Djed Presidents and Haul or Nothing……

And in Gameweek 3 we went big on Triple Captains……73 in total………not surprisingly 70 of those were for Haaland and all those teams benefitted from a not too bad 27 point TC haul…..the other 3 went for Tzolis, Fernandes and Isak….nice work Peaky Reijnders…….it appears the Liverpool striker has finally started remembering how to play football….that 39 point TC was enough to get you in the early running in the September stakes alongside Jamilios Gems on 82 points and Bowen Arrow on 72 points.

We also saw 7 Free Hits, none of them troubling Noahs Angels however, who could not resist playing their 3rd chip in 3 weeks, this time rolling out the Wildcard, one of 20 teams who threw their best laid plans up in the air with varying results……… a range of scores from No Show on 63 points to Big Boi Bassey on 29 points showed that sometimes it’s good to roll the dice, at other times patience wins!

Also delighted to let Bowen Arrows off the hook and welcome to the fold Cole-Will-Score…….30 points left on the bench takes the lead for this title…..no cash prize available……. just your name in lights…….the main contributor was the highest scoring player of the week Tyrick Mitchell’s 15 points buried somewhat ironically in 15th place in the squad!

However as I often say on these pages…..there is always someone worse off than you so settle back and enjoy as I share the woes of Long Pond Sports XI…….one of a number of teams that this week decided to play the Wildcard…..a reasonable strategy shared by many as I’ve already said……and so Long Pond went ahead and made 12 transfers…….but Long Pond forgot one vital thing……….you need to PRESS that wildcard button otherwise it is very very expensive!!

I think this merits a full overview of the crimesheet……which translated into 10 hits…..and a loss of 40 points meaning a net GW score of ZERO…..you have our full sympathy Long Pond!!

Thats all for this week, and finally we have a rare Saturday 13:30 deadline, enjoy that extra time!

Have a good gameweek everyone and all the best from all of us at the Evie Dove Foundation.

Still a high number teams that have not yet made their donation, remember you need to do so to be in contention for the cash prizes, the link is here, thanks very much to you all https://theeviedovefoundation.org/fantasy-football/
