About Emily
Hello! I’m Emily – a Lecturer in Music Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, where my research explores how music brings people together, supports wellbeing and creates a sense of belonging. Alongside my academic work, I am a trustee of the Canterbury Cantata Trust, whose mission of caring through singing reflects my belief in the power of music to change lives. Supporting the Evie Dove Foundation is particularly meaningful to me. My daughter is a third year medical student, giving me an even greater appreciation of the compassion and dedication shown by healthcare professionals and the importance of supporting patients and families. Outside work, I play the violin and viola, and I enjoy keeping active through running and Hyrox, having competed in events in London and Dublin. After completing the York Marathon in 2025, I’m now training for the London Marathon 2027 to raise funds for the Evie Dove Foundation.
