About Where’s

Hi, I’m Dickie Mackness. Recently retired and looking for a challenge, I had a crazy thought about walking around Britain, covering thousands of miles. I set off on this mission in September 2023, the day after the TEDF Big Coastal Walk, and by February 2024, I had completed over 1,200 miles along the south coast of Britain all the way to Lands End and around Wales. However, at that point, I started to suffer from Achilles tendinopathy and had to take an enforced break. I am delighted that my efforts to date have raised over £7000 and that the ‘Where’s Dickie?’ campaign has created two new Evie Dove Heroes [I’ll add the detail when they have been allocated] And now I am ready to go again!! From mid-August 2024, I’m now setting off on my walk around Britain once again. I’ll be taking it very easy and will build up the miles gradually, and of course, in true ‘Where’s Dickie’ style, I’ll see where that pathway takes me!
