Hello everyone! I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying life in your part of the world.
This is Caroline here, Evie’s auntie, just wanting to give you a quick update on the year so far here at the Evie Dove Foundation and also to remind you of a few ‘dates for your diary’ as we head into the summer months.
We’ve had a busy start to 2026, with more than 30 fantastic hero applications accepted already, including applications for new courses and from new parts of the NHS. Through your amazing support this year we expect to hit the 300 heroes milestone, which is incredible and the impact this is having on the care for children in our NHS is profound.
Hero Reflections
Hamza, a doctor working in Birmingham and studying for Masters in Paediatric Allergy funded by you, our amazing supporters, reflected on this in a lovely thank you note just last week that I wanted to share with you all…
“Thanks so much for the response and for offering to support my degree funding for the last year of my studies. I can not emphasise enough how grateful I am to all the team for giving me this opportunity once again. I truly believe the work being done in honour of Evie is immeasurable. The opportunity to further my education to allow me to ultimately provide better care to my patients as a paediatrician is something I’m very grateful for. I hope to continue to support the foundation in any way I can and look forward to seeing all the great things the fellow heroes and foundation get up to in the year to come.”
Hamza is one of many heroes who has gone the extra mile and completed a fundraising challenge for the Foundation and I just wanted to share the stories of a few others who have done the same this year.
Fundraising Events March – June 2026
Sam Climbs Kili
In March, the incredible Sam Archer climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, taking the Evie pink T-shirt to the summit and raising more than £1000.
Sam has raised money for us from day one, baking cakes and organising the wonderful Evie Heart Walk, where so many of our beautiful heroes walk across London together to raise money to support others.
Sam is completing a Masters with your support and has set up and leads a critical care outreach team at King’s College Hospital, caring for the sickest of children on the wards.
Luke Runs a Double Marathon
Luke Silcock, an employee of Holiday Extras, decided he would run not one but two full marathons this year.
Luke completed the Rome Marathon and then two weeks later the Paris Marathon!!! He raised an incredible amount in such a short space of time and all his effort was for the Evie Dove Foundation.
Thank you Luke, from the bottom of our hearts for this amazing gift, your donations will help with our promise of supporting even more Heroes.
Congratulations to Rowan & Danny
In an incredibly touching moment, another of our truly inspiring heroes, Rowen Seglah married her fiancé Danny and instead of a wedding gift list, asked for donations to the Foundation, raising more than £700 to support others to study.
Rowen is a physiotherapist who works with children with cancer and with your support is completing a Masters in cancer care.
The London Marathon 2026
And of course we have been completely blown away by the fundraising efforts of our marathon runners this year.
We were fortunate enough to secure official marathon places this year and between them our three amazing runners raised huge amounts for the Foundation. This included the incredible JasonPaul who ran his first ever marathon for the Foundation and with the support of his fantastic brother Jamie raised more than £20,000. Thank you to Jason Paul and Jamie and to your wonderful team of supporters, who created a beautiful wall of pink at mile 13 😊
Our TEDF Marathon Runners
One of this year’s runners was our very own Sophie Cripps, a clinical psychologist working in a paediatric palliative care service in Newham, London who, with your support is completing the Child Focussed Systemic Practice Course at The Institute of Family Therapy to help provide better support for families at the most difficult of times.

Marathon 2027 shortlist places
We have a very exciting opportunity to support a new initiative across a whole region of the UK thanks to the money you have raised. We have 4 places for the London marathon next year and have already had many applications for these places, thank you to all who have offered your fundraising support.
Further Completed Events
When I last wrote to you all in February, we were looking forward to another fund raiser being generously supported by the Rocksalt group of restaurants in Folkestone. I’m delighted to share the news that their lunch with Sir Jason Kenny CBE raised more than £11,000 which will help us sponsor more than 5 new heroes.
TEDF had our first five-a-side football tournament in Burgess Hill on Friday 22nd May, organised by David Corney. Thank you so much for your amazing organisation skills. It was promised to be a wonderful event and that it was. A brilliant turnout and money raised for our foundation to support even more heroes. Over £3,000 has been raised for TEDF which is incredibly generous. The weather was really hot but the teams did us proud, well done to everyone who had taken time out to help with the fundraising. Chapel House Estate
Other amazing sponsors this year include the Chapel House Estate in Minster, Kent who are generously hosting this year’s Foundation afternoon tea on Saturday June 27th in their incredible grounds. There are a few tickets left if you’d like to join us for what promises to be a really special day.

Saturday September 5th– The Evie Dove Foundation Coastal Walk
Tickets are already selling fast for this event, which is truly one of the highlights of our year at TEDF. We’ll be walking again, 16 miles from Unit 1 in Hythe to the Harbour Arm in Folkestone and back, a beautiful coastal walk, with plenty of opportunities to stop for a drink and a bite to eat. Or you might want to join our shorter (3 mile) Little Canal Walk this year.

If you can’t make it to Kent and would like to create your own walk we will provide you with all the support you need. Last year we had walks in Portsmouth, Warwick, Oxford, Cyprus and Orlando and we love that the Evie Dove Foundation is going global!
Tuesday October 13th – TEDF Golf Day
Once again the majestic links of Princes in Sandwich will host up to 20 teams for our annual golf day in October.
Last year’s Golf Day alone raised an incredible £12k which sponsored up to 5 new heroes so watch out on our website for further information and details on how to join this fabulous day of golf.
Saturday December 6th – TEDF Christmas Party
And finally, to end the year, we are holding our 5th annual Christmas Party, which this year will be held again at the beautiful Chapel House venue in Minster, Kent.
This wonderful celebration raises incredible funds through the generosity of so many donating and bidding on auction and raffle items. The 2025 party raised a staggering £24,700 which will help us to sponsor around 15 people this year. It was also an evening of fun, love, generosity and kindness so huge thanks to everyone who supported us. Have a look at the photos and see if you can spot yourself in there!
