Welcome to 2025 from TEDF

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

We finished 2024 in style with our Christmas party at Betteshanger Park, which was a stand out success. Our thanks to all who attended, to those who generously provided and bought auction prizes, and took part in our raffle. In total we raised a staggering £30,000.  This will go on to fund at least 15 new TEDF Heroes. Thank you so much.

Our thanks also to Unit 1 whose annual Christmas raffle raised an amazing £2,300, thank you everyone who purchased a ticket and to the team for their unwavering support throughout the year, including being the main venue for our Big Coastal Walk – more later!

We are now looking forward to an exciting 2025 and we know that diaries fill up fast so we thought we’d give you some ideas, inspiration and a chance to “save the date” as you get planning your year and any fitness goals.

And don’t worry it’s not all about activity and adventure, there is also plenty of opportunity to eat cake!

Save the dates!

Friday 9th May (7 Day Adventure)

We are so excited to announce the launch of our first ever overseas TEDF Adventure, working with the hugely experienced adventure and expedition guide Howard Foster. Get ready for an ambitious 300km mountain bike adventure through the majestic High Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

This demanding challenge promises to be an unforgettable journey across one of the world’s most thrilling cycling terrains. Experience the rush of navigating incredible landscapes, from lush green valleys to striking snow-capped peaks. As you ride along ancient Berber trails, immerse yourself in the breathtaking views that North Africa offers. With the warm Mediterranean climate, May is the perfect time to embark on this. This is a 6 night/7 day adventure with 15 places.

More details will follow but if you are interested and would like a chat about it then please do email us at info@theeviedovefoundation.org

Sunday 8th June

Evie’s Aunty Callie and Trustee of TEDF will once again be opening her beautiful house and garden in Kingsdown (Kent) for an afternoon of tea, cake, scones. Including a raffle and plant sale. This is a lovely, relaxed event and a chance to enjoy the best of British summer in a traditional and homely garden party setting.

Saturday 21st June

Following the incredible success of our first ride we are delighted to be back in action on the 21st of June 2025 for another great day out on two wheels. Given the popularity of the inaugural ride we are repeating the same 45km ride through the beautiful Kent countryside. And yes, you may have spotted it—the date is the Summer Solstice, so what better way to enjoy the longest day of the year than outside in the fresh air with friends, family, and other like-minded participants?

Once again, we are teaming up with local artisan bike builders Craft Bikes, run by James and Chloe, who have years of cycling experience, leading the ride in a safe, fun and professional way. Together with their awesome bike crew supporting throughout the route on all things mechanical and motivational!

Sign up before the end of January to take advantage of our Early Bird Offer.

Saturday 6th September

Our flagship event of the year as we turn the Hythe and Folkestone seafront into a sea of Pink TEDF T-shirts. This 16 mile walking event is hugely popular and we have a capacity of around 250 people, so please sign up early as once again we are expecting a sellout!  We also have the 3 mile Little Canal Walk for our smaller supporters.

If you can’t make it to Kent and would like to create your own walk we will provide you with all the support you need, we will build a web page for you and provide merchandise. The more people we can get out walking and proudly displaying their bright pink T-shirts on 6th September the better.

Please email us for more information at info@theeviedovefoundation.org

Wednesday 15th October

Our golf day, now labelled the ‘Fifth major’, will once again take place at the fabulous and exclusive Princes Golf club on the Kentish coast. Ali McGurik and her fantastic team hosted us superbly and we cannot wait to return on the 15th October. Last year we raised a whopping £12k thanks to the incredible generosity of all those involved. Teams are filling up fast so please let Hugo know directly if you are interested in entering a team of 4 players by emailing hugo.loudon@holidayextras.com.

Saturday 6th December

Save the date for an even bigger and better Christmas party, our most glam event of the year but yes it’s still “active” as we are delighted to welcome back the amazing Realm79 to get us on the dance floor! This will be a sit down meal with a few ticketing options. More details to follow later in the year.

With your help, love and support TEDF goes from strength to strength and this year we have set ourselves the target to sponsor at least another 100 Heroes who through their paediatric skills and care will go on to help thousands of children and their families as we continue our mission to honour Evie’s legacy.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2025, heartfelt thanks from us all at The Evie Dove Foundation.

The Trustees,

Howard, Katie, Matt, Helen, Simon, Hugo, Callie
