Thank you so much for participating in our first BIG TEDF Bike Ride event.
We did say… “whatever the weather” and we certainly had some! The Craft Bikes crew have ridden the route so many times over the last year, even during the depths of winter and we can honestly say that Saturday was the most challenging conditions we have had. Torrential rain, storm force winds…. oh and that MUD!
But YOU did it!! With almost 50 riders lining up at the start, all but 2 (due to unfixable mechanical issues) finished the full distance. Everyone should be very proud of completing such a challenging event under those conditions and doing so with a smile on your faces.
We really appreciate all of the support, not just to the Foundation, but also to each other on the day. The fundraising total from all attendees is currently at an amazing £3,600, enough to sponsor a whole new TEDF Hero! The entry fees towards covering the event costs including the Forestry Commission licence, drinks bottles (made from recycled materials), T-shirts, pizza, refreshments, route signage (reusable).
Thank you to everyone who took part, donated and helped raise such a fantastic amount of money to sponsor more talented and passionate paediatric professionals.
Thank you to James and Chloe of Craft Bikes (@jimbuildsbikes), to the support crew who not only kept us all on track and motivated but dealt with more than 25 punctures amongst many other mechanical fixes to keep everyone rolling!
Our thanks to the full organising team and the local businesses that also made the day possible including Barney and The Pizza, Dockers Brewery, Get Buzzing Bars, Signworx and the Village Halls at Barham and Lyminge.
