Frances Ling

What has been your clinical/medical experience to date?

I am a paediatric nurse who has worked in the NHS for over 20years. For the last 10 years I have worked as a paediatric allergy nurse specialist in a busy London hospital.

What motivated you to enter paediatric medical care in the first place?

I love working with children and as a child who had allergies herself I feel passionate about making a difference to children’s and families lives who live with allergies.

How will the funding from The Evie Dove Foundation help you to advance your career and your impact/services to children?

This funding will help me to complete the second year towards the allergy MSC. This will help me to become a more advanced practitioner and provide an excellent level of care to my patients and their family. My hope is to move forward in my career as a result.

Tell us about yourself!

I live in Essex with my husband and two children. We live by the forest and love to go exploring in it, taking a small fire to toast marshmallows and a hammock to swing in the trees. We love to travel and recently speak 3 weeks travelling in Mexico which was amazing. In my spare time (of which there is not much spare time!), I like to run and recently started open water swimming with my sisters and mum. My sisters and I completed a triathlon sprint distance in 2021 to raise funds for action aid to help women and children in Afghanistan.

Eligibility for Prizes

Thanks so much for joining the ‘Evie Dove Foundation League’, and for doing your bit to improve the speed and pastoral quality of medical care for sick children in the UK by increasing the number of compassionate Paediatric Nurses, Doctors and Consultants through awarding grants to help fund progression through higher education.
We have a prize fund of £1k for the 22/23 season, generously donated by one of our amazing sponsors. We are sure you will understand that we need to have a set of rules for how this prize money is allocated.
To put yourself in with a chance of winning a prize, you will need to make a £10 pledge to the Evie Dove Foundation, AND convert this into a £10 payment to the Foundation when we have charity status.
If you don’t do both of these then you will be playing just for fun – you are really welcome, but it’s really important we make that clear up front! No pledge/payment = no prize!
If you make a pledge and/or payment of less than £10, you will be in the mix for a percentage of each prize – for example if you pledge £5, you will be eligible for 50% of every prize available.
The league is open for new entrants until 23:59 on Wednesday 31st August. If you have not entered a team AND made a pledge by this deadline, then you will not be eligible for any prize money and will be playing just for fun.
When we have charity status we will contact you directly to convert your pledge into payment. We will ask you to make payment within 14 days of our contact for you to be eligible for any prizes. If you do not make payment, again you will not be eligible for any prize money and will be playing just for fun.
Prizes will be awarded for the following categories, and will be paid out within one week of the final game of the season.
- Overall winner = £300
- Best Non Triple Captain Gameweek = £125
- Best total team score in the week you play your Triple Captain = £125
- Best Free Hit = £125
- Lowest number of transfers (to qualify for this prize you will need to achieve a minimum of 1950 points over the season – just to ensure we do not reward ‘inactive’ teams!) = £125
- Mystery prize find = £150
- Best Team Name – judged by Howard, Katie & Edward. Their decision is final! = £50
In the event of a tie in any category, prize money will be shared equally.
