Please briefly describe your clinical/medical experience to date?
Throughout my career, I have worked with children, young people and their support networks across both physical and mental health services.
Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I have specialised in paediatric psychology, working within multidisciplinary teams across a range of medical specialties.
My work focuses on navigating the psychological impact of chronic health conditions, while promoting psychologically informed care within paediatric healthcare services.
What motivated you to enter paediatric care in the first place?
Given my personal experience of being supported by paediatric services, I have been inspired to work with children, young people and support networks within medical settings.
With a longstanding interest for the relationship between physical and emotional wellbeing, I was inspired to pursue the journey to become a Clinical Psychologist.
This role supports me to contribute to paediatric healthcare, where children are supported with their identity, emotional wellbeing and adjustment to living with a health condition.
How will the funding from The Evie Dove Foundation help you to advance your career and your impact/services to children?
The Evie Dove Foundation funding will support me to undertake further training with the Institute of Narrative Therapy, strengthening my therapeutic skills and further developing my practice within paediatric psychology. I hope to develop narrative approaches into my work and share the learning with multidisciplinary colleagues and trainees.
How did you find out about The Evie Dove Foundation?
I was made aware of the Evie Dove foundation by many colleagues in my Paediatric service who have taken part in events and received funding for training.
Tell us about yourself!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I’ll often invite them along to try new restaurants, attend fitness classes or explore new places with me!
Anything else you would like to tell us about your experience, future aspirations and motivations?
I am passionate about ensuring that children and young people living with health conditions have access to compassionate, equitable and psychologically informed care.
Alongside my clinical work, I am committed to contributing to teaching, service development and multidisciplinary working so that psychological thinking becomes embedded within paediatric healthcare. I hope to continue collaborating closely with children, young people and support networks to shape services, improve access to psychological support, and ensure that emotional wellbeing is recognised as an integral part of paediatric care.
