Please briefly describe your clinical/medical experience to date?

I’m a fully qualified experienced Physician Associate (PA) working in Paediatrics and registered on the PA Managed Voluntary Register.

What motivated you to enter paediatric medical care in the first place?

Allergies are an increasing global health problem, especially in children, and there is an urgent need in the UK and worldwide for clinical allergy specialists. I’m willing to provide emotional support to the children and their families. Seeing the happy looks on their faces as they begin to feel better in the road to recovery is the highlight of my career.

How will the funding from The Evie Dove Foundation help you to advance your career and your impact/services to children?

The Evie Dove Foundation funding will help me to develop my understanding of the clinical features seen in allergic diseases. This will enable me to conduct appropriate clinical history-taking and tests and arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
Enabling me to create a robust treatment plan that can help alleviate allergic symptoms. As a result, developing skills in the use of medical devices and treatments that will enable me to treat and manage the patients under my care.

How did you find out about The Evie Dove Foundation?

Through a leaflet circulated on Padua ward, William Harvey Hospital that clearly outlined the paediatric career funding offered to all child Health staff for financial support in undertaking training that will enhance paediatric care

If comfortable sharing, can we have a little insight into where you live, your family, what you enjoy doing in your spare time, your passions / achievements / travelling outside of work? The real you!

I live in Kent, Ashford. I enjoy playing football over the weekend and do marathons. I have participated in the great north run on 3 occasions. Very friendly, welcoming and sociable person and paediatrics suits my career choice.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your experience, future aspirations and motivations?

I’m involved in lecturing, examining and mentoring students on placements other physician associates at Canterbury Christ Church and at the hospital. There is no better way to give back and share my knowledge and provide support and necessary advice to less experienced colleagues and the next generation of healthcare colleagues interested in allergy and Paediatrics as a whole. The Evie Dove funding is the vehicle that will definitely help me easily attain my future aspirations.
