What has been your clinical/medical experience to date?

I have trained as a Clinical Oncologist with special interest in Paediatric Oncology in my home country, Egypt for three years. For academic expireience afterwards, I have studied MSc Oncology at The University of Nottingham and graduated with an award of distinction; afterwards, gained more clincial experience as a Paediatric Oncology Specialist in Egypt for 18 months followed by a role as a Paediatric Oncology Drug Development Fellow in Royal Marsden Hospital, London. Have not gained General Paediatric clinical experience, I have successfully applied for the National Paediatric Training Program in the UK and currently finishing my ST-1 Paediatric training year at East Kent University Hospitals Foundation Trust.

What motivated you to enter paediatric medical care in the first place?

Paediatric Oncology has always been my passion since graduation from medical school. I feel grateful enough to have the chance helping children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

How will the funding from The Evie Dove Foundation help you to advance your career and your impact/services to children?

Despite that my Research project of my Oncology MSc program was a Paedaitric Oncology project, the modules I have studied have not included a specific Paediatric Oncology Module. I am grateful for The Evie Dove Foundation for giving an opportunity to study Paediatric Oncology module in University of Birmingham which will enrich my Paediatric Oncology academic and clinical knowledge.

How did you find out about The Evie Dove Foundation?

East Kent University Hospitals Foundation Trust.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your experience, future aspirations and motivations?

Pursuing a career as a Paediatric Oncology Consultant is my biggest career goal on both clinical and academic levels, I had a chance to work as Paediatric Oncology Drug Development Fellow and was part of a spactuclar team working to develop new treatment options for those vulnerable children. Carrying on my career and developing myself as a person and a clinician so I can contribute to helping children with cancer and their families in my motivation
